ぜんじんけつ【全人血】

zenjinketsu

Definition

Noun

  1. (Medicine) Whole human blood; whole blood

Etymology

The term is a combination of ぜんけつ【全血】 zenketsu "whole blood" and じんけつ【人血】 jinketsu "human blood". It may have first been borrowed from Chinese, where 【全人血】 (Mandarin: quán rén xuè) is more widely attested, or directly from the English term "whole human blood".

Notes

Whole blood refers to blood that has been collected and often combined with an anticoagulant, but that has otherwise not been modified. See this Wikipedia article for details.
